Stockholm International Film Festival
Stockholm International Film Festival is one of the premier film festivals in northern Europe. The aim is to give young filmmakers a chance to be seen and to showcase the broad spectrum of films produced in Scandinavia. It might not be exactly like Cannes, but the festival has attracted many big names: former guests have included, among others, Dennis Hopper, Quentin Tarantino, the Coen brothers and Lars von Trier.

Christmas Market At Skansen
The Christmas market at Skansen is the largest of its kind in Sweden. It dates back to 1903 and has since been an annual tradition. It takes place annually every weekend in December. Experience Swedish handicraft products being made, like traditional Christmas decorations, hand dipped candles, candy and classic Christmas dishes such as smoked sausage, eel, salmon, gingerbread, mulled wine and saffron buns. Take a look into the houses and farms and see how Christmas was celebrated in the past and listen to the choirs and musicians.

Stockholm Marathon
Few cities can match the beauty of Stockholm Marathon's track layout along Strandvägen, Norrmälarstrand and Skeppsbron. From Lidingövägen you can see the runners take off, but if you prefer to witness the finish, Stockholm Stadium is the place to be. In 2014 there was 21,942 runners from 93 different countries registered, which is a record for the competition.

The DN Gala
The DN Gala is an annual athletics competition held at Stockholms Stadium, which in 2013 was ranked number five of the over 600 galas in the world. Fifteen fresh world champions competed at Stockholm Stadium and there were three new arena records beaten. Through the years it has been no less than 83 world records at the Olympic Stadium, which is far more than at any other stadium in the world.

Stockholm Pride
The Stockholm Pride Festival has, since it started in 1998, grown into one of the capital's biggest LGBT events and offers five days of partying, debates, entertainment and much more. The action center is Tantolunden in Södermalm. The festival also includes art exhibitions, films, and the grand parade which takes place on Saturday.

Stockholm Jazz Festival
Stockholm Jazz Festival, which takes place annualy every July, is one of Sweden's top music festivals with lots of international artists. The main scene is seated at the picturesque Skeppsholmen, but Konserthuset and the scenes in Kungsträdgården, Mosebacke Etablissement and Fasching offers world class music around the clock as well. Around 30,000 devoted visitors come every year to listen to jazz, soul, blues and more.
